Dau named Huskies Athlete of the Week

Keyano College Huskies Athletics announced today that Men's Basketball student athlete Ringo Dau (Minneapolis, Minn.) has been named the Keyano Huskies Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 13, 2022.

Dau played a large role in the Huskies' results over the weekend as the team caputred their second-ever Silver medal at the 2022 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men's Basketball Championship. 

In 67 minutes of action over the two games, Dau collected 39 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and one block. 

Taking charge in Friday's 100-88 win against the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings, Dau had 29 points, six rebounds, and four assists. In Saturday's Gold Medal game, Dau collected 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, and one block.

Dau went 13-for-26 (50 per cent) from the field, making four of the eight three-point shots he put up over the two games. He also made good on nine of 13 free throws (69.23 per cent). 

A Business student in his second year of eligiblity from Minneapolis, Minn., Dau was a leader for the Huskies throughout the regular season and playoffs. He was also named to the ACAC North Division All-Conference Second Team with teammate Omeechi Williams. 

During the 2021-22 ACAC Regular Season, Dau averaged 13.1 points per game, along with 5.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game. He also sported an assist-toturnover ratio of 1.2. 

He reached double-digit points 11 times during the regular season and did it in all three playoff games.

His regular season high was achieved twice with 23 points on November 12, 2021 against The King's University Eagles and a similar effort against the Northwest Polytechnic Wolves on November 26, 2021. Dau reached double-digit points in seven of his final nine regular season games, scoring eight points each in ther other two.
