Keyano College Huskies Athletics announced today that Women's Basketball student athlete Zera Panesa (Winnipeg, Man.) and Men's Basketball student athlete Ringo Dau (Minneapolis, Minn.) have been named the Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 28, 2021.

Panesa recorded 32 points, 10 steals, seven assists, and five rebounds as the Women's Basketball Huskies recorded a pair of wins against the visiting Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves.

"Zera has been playing well over the past few weeks," said head coach Dwayne Vigilance. "She has overcome a knee injury and has battled through adversity to be the best version of herself.

"I have been very proud of her development over the past few months."

Friday, Panesa had nine points, five steals, four rebounds, and two assists as the Huskies earned a 65-51 victory. In 26 minutes of action, Panesa made four of eight shots from the field, including a single three-point shot.

Saturday, she scored a season-high 23 points on nine-of-15 shooting, featuring four three-point shots in a 93-47 win for the Huskies. She also had five assists, five steals, and one rebound in the contest while seeing 31 minutes of action. Her effort earned her Player of the Game honours for the Huskies Saturday.

A Business Administration student in her fourth year of eligibility, Panesa is averaging 10.5 points-per-game along with 2.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game as well.

Dau posted 36 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, five steals, and one block as the Men's Basketball Huskies beat the GPRC Wolves twice at home to keep their perfect record intact at 6-0.

"Ringo had the responsibility of guarding one of their best players all weekend and did a great job of that," said head coach Jeremy Wielenga. "Ringo has been tasked with guarding the opposition's best player every game this season and has always answered the call and continues to produce on the offensive end.

"To his credit, it shows he has the ability to have an impact on both sides of the floor every night."

In Friday's 96-70 victory, Dau tallied 23 points in 33 minutes of action of nine-of-17 shooting from the field. He made three of the six three-point shots he attempted and sank a pair of free throws as well. He also added six rebounds, four assists, five steals, and one block.

Saturday, Dau again played 33 minutes, this time dropping 13 points, eight rebounds, and one assist in a tight 79-74 win for the Huskies.

Dau has made an immediate impact with the Huskies, averaging 14.3 points per game, along with 5.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

The Minneapolis, Minn. Product is in his second year of eligibility and is currently studying Business.
