Caribou, Neufeld, and Brzozowski named Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week

Keyano College Huskies Athletics announced today that Women's Volleyball student-athlete Tyneille Neufeld (Winnipeg, Man.), Men’s Volleyball student-athlete Radoslaw (Radek) Brzozowski (Wroclow, Poland), and Men’s Basketball student-athlete Keenen Caribou (Pukatawagan, Man.) have been named the Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 29, 2022.  
 
The trio each played strong roles in their respective teams earning weekend sweeps against the NAIT Ooks this past weekend. Neufeld and Brzozowski led the charge on the home court while Caribou helped his team to victory on both nights in Edmonton.  
 
Tyneille Neufeld, Women's Volleyball
Across two straight-sets victories for the Women’s Volleyball Huskies, Neufeld recorded 26 kills, eight digs, one block, and one assist.  
 
“Being in her fifth year, this is her last rodeo in the CCAA so she’s really leaving it all out on the line and she showed that this weekend,” Head Coach Hayden Nichol said.  

Neufeld recorded 11 kills in Friday’s win and 15 in Saturday’s victory. In nine games and 27 sets this season, she’s recorded 88 kills. Her 3.26 kills per set rank in a tie for third in the entire conference. She also has 55 digs, 10 blocks, and seven assists.  
 
In 25 ACAC regular season games with the Huskies, Neufeld has 281 kills, 38 blocks, 246 digs, and 16 assists. 
 
The Women’s Volleyball Huskies return to regular season action on January 13 when they take to the road against the Lethbridge College Kodiaks.  
 
Radek Brzozowski, Men’s Volleyball
Brzozowski had a huge weekend on the home court with the Keyano Huskies Men’s Volleyball team, pacing them in a pair of wins against the division-leading NAIT Ooks to close out the first semester of action.   
  
Brzozowski played in all seven sets across the two matches, recording 25 kills, nine digs, one block, and one assist.   
  
“He’s got an absolutely unbelievable arm, great ball control, he been a really good blocker, and he’s just done everything for us,” Head Coach Keegan Kuhr said.   
  
In Friday’s four-set win (26-24, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22), Brzozowski had 14 kills, four digs, and one assist. In Saturday’s straight-sets victory (25-18, 25-19, 30-28), he stepped up once again with 11 kills, five digs, and one block.   
  
In his fifth year of eligibility and studying Business, Brzozowski has played for the Huskies and Ooks during his Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) career.   
  
In 75 ACAC Regular Season games, Brzozowski has played in 261 sets, recording 665 kills, 389 digs, and 103 service aces. He was a part of the Keyano Huskies ACAC Championship squad in 2019.   
  
The Huskies return to regular season action on Friday, January 13 when they take to the road against the Kodiaks. 
 
Keenen Caribou, Men’s Basketball
In two key road wins for the Men’s Basketball Huskies, Caribous contributed 53 minutes of action with 15 points.  
 
In Friday’s 78-66 win, Caribou contributed four points. Saturday, as the Huskies won 78-69, Caribou had 11 points to figure into a quartet of Huskies in double digits. The 11 points tied a season-high for Caribou, who also played his second-most minutes in a single game this season.  
 
“The way he just battled, it was crazy to watch,” Head Coach Jeremy Wielenga said.  
 
Caribou and the Huskies return home for their final regular season home games of the first semester when they play host to The King’s University Eagles this weekend at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre.
