During Black History Month, Keyano College Huskies Athletics will be celebrating and recognizing the accomplishments of Black student-athletes and staff who have made an impact during their time at Keyano College. Today, the program is recognizing Women's Soccer student-athlete Felicia Rodney.

When the time comes for Felicia Rodney to conclude her post-secondary career, there will be no doubt about where she belongs in terms of the all-time greats in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) soccer history.

This year, the Calgary, Alta. product added her name to a very select list of ACAC soccer student-athletes to ever score 50 goals in their ACAC career, helping the Women's Soccer Huskies fill the back of the net as they enjoyed the program's best season in their history.

To better understand her career achievements though, you have to look at her entire post-secondary career, where she's continually improved throughout.

Beginning with the Olds College of Agriculture & Technology Broncos, Rodney scored 14 goals as rookie in the 2018-19 academic year across 11 games. Recognized as a member of the ACAC's South Division All-Conference team, she also took home the ACAC's Rookie of the Year honours.

In her second season, she posted 15 goals in 11 games, again being named to the ACAC's All-Conference team in the South Division.

The pausing of play in the 2020-21 campaign didn't deter Rodney's goal-scoring skills as she returned to the Broncos for the 2021-22 academic year, scoring eight goals in a six-game season to feature on the ACAC's All-Conference team once again.

After qualifying for the ACAC Women's Soccer Championships in 2019, a game the Broncos were shutout in, Rodney marked the team's return in 2021 with a hat trick against the Medicine Hat College Rattlers, though the Broncos still went down to defeat in the game.

A change of academic years brought a change in colours Rodney represented as she donned the blue and white to join the Women's Soccer Huskies.

With 37 career ACAC goals to her name, Rodney quickly added to that total with a goal in her first game in the ACAC's North Division, a 4-0 win against The King's University Eagles on September 10.

What followed over the next 11 games was a remarkable season from Rodney as she posted five multi-goal games, including a four-goal game on October 9, 2022 against the Lakeland Rustlers.

Her 17 goals were the most in a single season in Huskies history and put her at 54 career goals for her ACAC Regular Season career, third all-time.

The ACAC and kept note of Rodney's prowess on the pitch, naming her the ACAC North Division Player of the Year, the first to ever come from the Women's Soccer Huskies. To no surprise, she was also given her fourth nomination to the ACAC's All-Conference team, this time featuring in the North Division.

The accolades for Rodney didn't end there as the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) recognized her in November 2022 as the 10th CCAA All-Canadian in Keyano College Huskies Athletics history and first to come from the Women's Soccer program at Keyano College.

With the upcoming futsal season and another season of eligibility left, Rodney's story is far from finished on the field or in the classroom, where she's a three-time CCAA National Scholar Award recipient.

There's no denying Rodney's spectacular career and contribution to the advancement of ACAC soccer will be long remembered in the conference's history.
