Keyano College Huskies Athletics announced today that Women's Soccer student-athlete Selena Arima (Kelowna, B.C.) and Men's Soccer student-athlete Joshua Fitzpatrick (Ottawa, Ont.) have been recognized as the All In Sports Den Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 10, 2023.

Arima and Fitzpatrick both scored the first regular season goals of their respective Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) soccer careers over the weekend as the Huskies opened the 2023 outdoor season against The King's University Eagles.

"She's a returning player for us with a year in-between," Head Coach Niels Slotboom said. "She's taken some really big steps between her last game the first time around here and now.

"She's starting to grow into her role on the team here and really starting to shine in spots where we need some big leadership."

Arima's goal came as the second strike in Friday's 3-0 win while Fitzpatrick scored in a 2-1 result on Saturday.

"Josh has done well the whole season," Slotboom said. "He's come in fit, he's done well in preseason and the game here too, he played well [Friday] when he came in.

"He started today and made his mark and finally put one in the back of the net. I'm excited to see what else he can do this season."

The Huskies return to action on Sunday, September 17, playing host to the Portage College Voyageurs in ACAC Regular Season action at Shell Place in Fort McMurray, Alta. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. for the Women and 2:00 p.m. for the Men. Admission is free for all Keyano Huskies home soccer games.
