Raisa Stokes, Women's Volleyball

Across a pair of five-set losses in Edmonton this past weekend, Stokes recorded 62 digs and four assists as the libero in her fourth year of eligibility kept her team in each of the weekend's matches.

"[She] was definitely the most consistent player for us over the weekend, both in serve receive and defensively," Head Coach Hayden Nichol said. "I thought she did a really good job and when times were tough she was being a really good teammate out there and a really positive voice when sometimes there wasn't a lot of positive things to speak about.

"She found a way to step up and help us out and got us out of a few jams with some spectacular play in the back row."

Currently studying Education at Keyano College, Stokes has recorded 160 digs this season across 45 sets in 13 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Regular Season games. That ranks sixth in the entire conference while her 3.56 digs per set rank fourth in the conference.

Brzozowski played a key role in a pair of straight-sets victories for the Men's Volleyball Huskies. Across the two games, the outside hitter in his fifth year of eligibility recorded 14 kills, 12 digs, three blocks, and three assists.

"He was good in all areas," Head Coach Keegan Kuhr said. "He served fairly well, he passed good. He had some really key blocks, he's obviously a very good attacker. He had his quiet leadership out there this weekend, helping us out in both games."

Brzozowski is enjoying a strong senior season with the Huskies, recording 88 kills, 50 digs, and 12 blocks. He ranks third on the Huskies in kills, fifth in digs, and third in blocks.

Jusci Thompson, Men's Basketball

Thompson played a key role in a pair of home wins for the Men's Basketball Huskies this past weekend. Across 35 minutes of action in the pair of games, he had 27 points, six rebounds, and eight assists.

"We have numerous guys that can step up and lead us any given night," Head Coach Jeremy Wielenga said. "Tonight it was Jusci and he played really well and I thought he gave us a great spark off the bench and did a really good job getting us organized and helped us at both ends of the floor."

For the weekend, Thompson shot 43.48 percent from the field (10-for-23), making good on three of 14 attempted three-point shots. He also went four-for-seven on free throws.
