The Keyano Huskies Women's Soccer team and NAIT Ooks played to a 2-2 draw Saturday afternoon at Shell Place.

Emma Bendera and Felicia Rodney scored for the Huskies, building up a 2-0 lead by the 50th minute. However, the Ooks found enough resolve to score in the 68th and 72nd minutes to tie up the game at its final score.

"We came in strong in our first half, but I think as a team we let our heads down, which is why we got a 2-2 result," Felicia Rodney said. "We know what we did wrong and we can move past those mistakes and execute from there."

Toni Burse and Rayna Hamieh scored for the Ooks in the match.

"[It was] a really good start," Head Coach Niels Slotboom said. "For the most part, it was a really good game.

"Just a couple lapses in focus and a decent team are going to make you pay for those and that's what happened. Unfortunate to not win the game, but again it's not a complete performance so we allowed teams to stick around."

Anastacia Lalonde of the Huskies and Payton Boyne of the Ooks each earned Player of the Game honours for their respective sides.

The two teams will face each other in a rematch on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. for the final home regular season game of the year for the Huskies. Before Sunday's game, the program will recognize graduating senior players Emma Bendera, Blanca Palavecino, and Isabela Bustos-Chaba for their contributions to the program.
