Ambrose Lions top Keyano Huskies with second-half comeback
The Ambrose Lions engineered a second-half comeback to top the Keyano Huskies Women's Basketball team Saturday night at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre.
After the Lions took the lead in the first quarter, the Huskies roared back with a 22-9 second quarter to lead by two points at the half. The Lions responded with a 14-11 edge in the third quarter and extended their lead via a 16-10 fourth quarter.
Jaylynn Twin led the Huskies with 18 points in the contest, also adding 18 rebounds to go along with four steals. Simarpreet Giani, Ryley Bullock, and Ellah Flanagan each had four points off the bench. Danika Cadieux scored eight to go along with four rebounds.
Andrijana Bokan led the Lions with 20 points.
The Huskies are now on the break for the rest of the semester. They're back on the court January 9-10 in Lloydminster, Alta., taking on the Lakeland Rustlers. They'll play their first homes games of the first semester January 30 and 31 when they host the NAIT Ooks.
