17 Keyano Huskies student-athletes recognized with CCAA National Scholar Award
Keyano College Huskies Athletics is proud to recognize 17 student-athletes as recipients of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association’s (CCAA) National Scholar Award for their academic performance in the 2023-24 academic year.
“We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes who have earned the CCAA National Scholar Award," said Jonathan Lambert, Keyano College's Director of Athletics & Recreation. "Their commitment to excellence both in the classroom and in their sport exemplifies the dedication and resilience we strive for at Keyano College.
"Balancing the demands of academics and athletics is no small feat, and this award recognize their outstanding achievement in both areas.”
Each of the Huskies six teams that compete in the CCAA and Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) are recognized on the list. Incoming Women’s Volleyball student-athlete Milan Schapowal earned her recognition while studying at Olds College. This year's list features McMurrayites Ben Simmons and Rofyda Khaleel.
The CCAA National Scholar Award recognizes student-athletes who achieve honours standing in academics while competing in intercollegiate athletics. To be recognized, a student-athlete must achieve honours standing at their institution in the current academic year.
