Keyano College Huskies Athletics is proud to announce that student-athletes Sean-Michael Clancey (Men’s Basketball) and Tyneille Neufeld (Women’s Volleyball) have been recognized as Academic All-Canadians by the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association.

This year, 246 student-athletes have achieved combined excellence in collegiate athletics and academics. Overall, 103 student-athletes from the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) were recognized with the honour.

Clancey had an incredible season with the Keyano Huskies Men’s Basketball team, earning ACAC Player of the Year and CCAA Player of the Year honours, repeating his ACAC Player of the Year award from 2021-22. Under Clancey’s leadership, the Huskies earned their second-straight perfect season with a 20-0 record, improving their regular season record under Clancey to 36-0.

Averaging 23.4 points and 31.6 minutes per game, Clancey was a consistent presence and threat to score on the court. He also averaged 6.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 3.0 steals on a per game basis.

For a third-straight season, Clancey was also named a CCAA All-Canadian and member of the ACAC’s All-Conference First Team and was named the Keyano Huskies Male Athlete of the Year in addition to the Most Valuable Player for the Men’s Basketball Huskies.

Playing her second season in the ACAC, Neufeld earned a second-straight nomination to the ACAC’s All-Conference Team.

In addition to a perfect 9-0 record on the home court and a 7-0 record against the ACAC South Division in the regular season, Neufled and the Women’s Volleyball Huskies enjoyed a 13-6 record in the 2022-23 season. That matched the program’s highest win total, which came in the 2015-16 academic year.

Individually, Neufeld appeared in all 19 games for the Huskies, recorded 227 kills, 151 digs, and 22 blocks. She was also named the Most Valuable Player of the Year for the Women’s Volleyball Huskies for a second-straight season.

The CCAA Academic All-Canadian award, presented by Brandnew Athlete, is the CCAA’s most prestigious student-athlete honour, epitomizing a commitment to academic success and athletic achievement.

As part of the partnership, CCAA Academic All-Canadians receive complimentary access to the Brandnew Elite Athlete Transformation Program.
