Keyano Huskies unveil 2022-23 annual award winners

Keyano College Huskies Athletics unveiled their 2022-23 awards Thursday night at the Rivers Casino & Entertainment Centre, with Women’s Soccer/Futsal student-athlete Felicia Rodney (Calgary, Alta.) and Men’s Basketball student-athlete Sean-Michael Clancey (Las Vegas, Nevada) taking home the top honours as Female & Male Athlete of the Year, respectively.  
 
The President’s Award for Athletics and Academic Excellence was awarded to Women’s Basketball student-athlete Zera Lynn Panesa (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and Trey Weinmeier (Edmonton, Alberta).  
 
From the Keyano Huskies Esports team, Gabriel Carvalho (Sao Leopoldo, Brazil) was recognized as the recipient of the Brent Butt Memorial Award.  
 
Women’s Volleyball student-athlete Megan Polant (Surrey, B.C.) and Men’s Soccer/Futsal student-athlete Dino Hronopoulos (Edmonton, Alta.) 
 
The Academic Achievement Award featured a tie on the Male and Female sides. Women’s Volleyball student-athletes Raisa Stokes (Fort McMurray, Alta.) and Tarynn Hope (Kelowna, B.C.) shared the honours on the Female side. Nathan Luken (Calgary, Alta.) from the Men’s Volleyball Huskies and Conner McGlennon (Ajax, Ont.) tied for the top honours on the Male side.  
 
The other major award handed out was the Huskies Ambassador Award, which was presented to Associate Vice President, Student Experience & Registrar Susie Bowles.  
 
Each team also presented their team awards, with a Rookie of the Year, Pride in the Pack, and Most Valuable Player Awards handed out.
